DavidsonNews.net comment policy

Feel free to add your two cents on any of our articles by clicking “comment” at the end of any item.

In September 2007, we updated our policy, and now require those who comment to register and provide their full names. We do not permit anonymous comments or those submitted under assumed or unverifiable names.

We reserve the right to edit or disallow comments, in much the same way that a newspaper editorial page is selective about the letters it publishes. In general, we are looking for comments which add substantially to the debate, remain civil and constructive and avoid personal attacks.

If a comment would typically not be printable in a newspaper letters page, it probably won’t make it here either.

Our policy is designed to keep the conversation civil and constructive. We have had significant problems with anonymous and uncivil comments. Thanks for your understanding.
